Hearing test appointments are carried out either in our offices in Newton Abbot or in the comfort of your own home. The noise levels should be below 30dB (A) in accordance with UK guidelines.
Hearing tests normally take around 90 minutes.
This allows for:
Medical history
Otoscopic examination of your ears
Full audiogram.
This involves playing a range of sounds at different intensities and frequencies to measure your hearing threshold
Uncomfortable loudness test.
This involves playing louder sounds until you ask us to stop, this will limit the output of the hearing aid
Explanation and advice regarding appropriate treatments
The next stage will depend on the result of the assessment
